How pricing works
A mattress is priced on its size, the stairs at each end, the drive and the date. A bed frame or a divan base is its own item, so add each piece.

Where we collect from and where it's going, with the floor, any lift and where the van can park.

The price covers the van, the carry, the drive and the date. No hourly meter, nothing added on the day.
A single item
from £100
Our lowest published single-item price: a short local drive, near the door at both ends, on a Monday to Thursday in the middle of the month. Prices include VAT.
A king or super king mattress, a bed with its frame, or stairs without a lift add time. All of it is in the fixed price, never added on the day.

Every price is on our price list. Road charges such as the Congestion Charge show as their own line in the quote, never added afterwards.

Every common bed size is on the item list, so most beds and mattresses are priced straight away.

Bed frames and divan bases
Frames, bases and headboards. Tell us if the frame comes apart.

Bunk beds, high sleepers and cabin beds, taken apart or whole.
Cots and toddler beds
Cots, cot beds and toddler beds, with their mattresses.
We don't take old mattresses away for disposal. Your council, the shop or a licensed waste carrier can collect an old one.
How collection from a shop or seller works
Agree the handover first. We ask for the details the driver needs, and nothing more.
Agree a collection window
With a seller, agree a day and a time window. With a shop, wait until they say it's ready.

Choose where we collect from, pick the mattress or bed and its size, and add both addresses.
Add the contact details
The seller's or shop's name and phone number, any order number and the collect-by date.
We collect and deliver
The driver collects and carries it in on the date you book. Nothing is held overnight.
Before you book
Bag a used mattress
If you're buying a used mattress, ask the seller to bag or wrap it, or bring a mattress bag.
Everything paid for
We collect goods you've bought and paid for. Sort out anything still to pay with the seller first.
A contact on the day
Add a name and phone number for the person releasing the goods. The driver calls them if anything is unclear.
A collect-by date
Some shops and sellers only hold goods for a set time. Add the date when you book, so the collection is planned before it.
Your route in
Check the turns on your stairs, the size of any lift and the width of your hallway. Long boxes and big sofas need room to turn.
Parking at both ends
Choose where the van can stop lawfully. If a permit or paid bay is needed, tell us who's arranging it.
Questions and answers
How much does it cost?
Single items start from £100: a short local drive, near the door at both ends, on a Monday to Thursday in the middle of the month. Prices include VAT. A bigger mattress, a bed with its frame, stairs and a longer drive add time, all inside the fixed price you see before you book.
Which mattress sizes can you move?
Every standard size, from single to super king, open or boxed. Choose the size when you add it, and the quote plans the carry.
Can you carry a mattress up the stairs?
Yes. Tell us the floor and whether there's a lift, and the stairs are in the price. A super king needs room to turn, so check the landing first.
Can you take my old mattress away?
No. We move goods, we don't dispose of them. Your council, the shop or a licensed waste carrier can take an old mattress.
Are you part of a bed shop or marketplace?
No. Movesmith is independent and isn't affiliated with these retailers. You buy the mattress or bed, and we collect it and deliver it to you.
How soon can you collect?
The earliest you can book is the next day. Choose a date in the quote and you see the price for that date before you book. If the shop or seller has a collect-by date, pick a date before it.
What if the goods aren't ready or don't match when you arrive?
The driver follows the collection details you gave. They don't leave with something different or incomplete without a decision from Movesmith. They can't change the price or take cash. If the job needs to change, we send you a fixed proposal, and nothing extra happens unless you approve it.
Who is responsible if something is damaged?
Movesmith accepts liability for your goods while we move them, under the terms shown before you book. Every move includes Movesmith Cover up to £10,000 — with increased cover up to £50,000 available when you declare a higher value.
