We check again about 48 hours before your move. It can only go down, never up.
How the promise worksA verified crew, a suitably sized vehicle, loading, driving and unloading, clear liability terms based on the details you declare at booking, and any customer road charges shown for your route.
Floors, lifts, carrying distance and waiting are declared before pricing and built into the price once, for every kind of move. Work such as dismantling or disconnecting an appliance is chosen separately and priced before you book.
The operator does not haggle or agree a cash price at the door. They pause before loading the changed scope and report it to Movesmith.
Movesmith prices any additional work as a new fixed proposal. It is charged to your saved card only if you expressly approve it. The one thing that can be added after your move is a parking ticket the crew gets because parking you said you would arrange wasn’t in place: you pay the ticket amount only, with no admin fees, after we show you the evidence, and you have 14 days to dispute it (clause 29.10).
Yes. Cancellation is free 48 hours or more before your move.
Closer to the move there is a published fee: 50% at 24–48 hours, 75% in the final 24 hours and 100% for a customer no-show, because the moving operator has reserved the time.

Tell Movesmith in writing, not the moving operator. Report loss or damage in writing, with details within 7 days of delivery.
We send goods claims to our claims handler, ICA. We stay your first contact. £100 excess per claim. We pay it, so you pay no excess.
Boxes you pack yourself are covered only for fire, collision or the van overturning. For missing contents, you need a valued contents list before the move.

Temporary route failures are retried; routes, access or handling outside the published rules go to a tailored fixed-price review.

2 people: from £147. Two movers do all the lifting.
Heavy items need 2 people. That includes 3-seat sofas, wardrobes with 2 or more doors, fridge-freezers, washing machines and dryers.
Too heavy on the day? Your mover leaves that item. We rebook it at the 2-person price only if you say yes. You never pay at the door.
Home moves always get 2 people or more.
Your exact fixed price is shown before you book.
Lower price, lower for you. About 48 hours before your move, we price the same move again on our prices that day. If it is lower, your price goes down too, and we email you.
Never higher. It can only go down, never up. Where our minimum service margin for your move limits the drop, your price falls as far as that allows.
Not covered: promotional codes, partner or organisation discounts, a different date or arrival window, changes you ask for, tailored-review quotes, and bookings paid for when you book because the move is within 48 hours.
