Movesmith is a fixed-price booking platform for household removals, flat moves, man-and-van jobs and removal to or from a customer-arranged storage facility. Movesmith does not provide storage. Office and business removals are not currently offered.

Movesmith checks identity, Goods in Transit and Public Liability documents, records the declared vehicle type, and requires a vehicle-compliance declaration. We do not claim to physically inspect vehicles.

Yes. Smaller moves with one or two movers and a single van are well supported — single-item collections, studio flats, marketplace pickups and short London-to-London hops.

Distance, property size, floor level and lift availability, parking distance, inventory, packing help, specialist items, timing, and customer route charges such as the Congestion Charge or relevant tolls. ULEZ is the operator's responsibility.

Where your move can be priced online, you can review the fixed price and available booking options. If it needs a tailored quote, we explain what must be reviewed first. A received booking is not confirmation that an operator has accepted; we confirm your operator separately and show the status of your move.

Tell us separately about pickup and delivery: choose where the van can park lawfully, then give the carry distance, floor, lift, stairs and any awkward access. A private driveway or unrestricted street selection is enough by itself. For permit-controlled, paid or loading-bay parking, also give who is arranging it, whether it is confirmed, its operating window and the exact lawful position. Unknown or unsupported access is reviewed before we offer a fixed price, and a carry of 50 metres or more needs a tailored review. Do not enter gate codes, passwords or access credentials in the booking.

If there is no lawful parking, furniture does not fit, access is unsafe, unplanned dismantling is needed or delivery cannot be completed, the operator pauses the affected work and sends Movesmith a structured report with evidence. The operator cannot invent a charge or take cash at the door. Movesmith reviews the facts and, if the job needs to change, sends you a fixed proposal. Extra work or payment happens only after you expressly approve it; if you reject it, there is no variation charge and Ops arranges the safe next step, rebooking or a fresh quote.
