Book, pay for and track moves in one Movesmith Business account.
Your organisation can pay for a move, or send it to the person moving to review and pay. Every move uses the same fixed-price engine as movesmith.uk, and we review each organisation before opening its account.
A new resident's chair, photographs and furniture matter as much as the room they go into. Your team can book the move through a Movesmith Business account, or send it to the family to review and pay. Movesmith arranges the moving team and keeps everyone updated, so your staff stay with residents rather than on the phone to removals firms.
A practical handover
- ✓Book a move for a new resident, a room change, or a resident's belongings going home or to the family when they leave, and choose move by move whether your organisation or the family pays.
- ✓We move the person's own furniture and belongings. We don't move your organisation's own furniture, equipment or stock, and we don't offer clearances.
- ✓Tell us access needs only, such as stairs, lifts, parking or when the home can receive the move. We don't need medical details, so please don't send them.
- ✓Add your PO or job reference to each move, so it matches your own records.
- ✓Moves are carried out by independent moving operators on the Movesmith network, each with Goods in Transit and Public Liability checked before they can take a job. Movesmith stays your point of contact.
- ✓Movesmith accepts liability for loss of or damage to the goods during the move, within the published Movesmith Cover limits.
Moving a parent into a care home: what to bring, how we handle it
If you are moving a parent or relative into a care home, the move is one thing you shouldn't have to chase.
- ✓Ask the home what furniture fits the room and what it already provides, then bring only what fits.
- ✓Familiar things help a room feel like home: a favourite chair, photographs, a bedside lamp, their own bedding.
- ✓Book a fixed-price move from their home to the care home, and see the price before you book. If the care home has a Movesmith Business account, it can prepare the move and send it to you to review and pay.
- ✓Tell us the access at both ends, such as stairs, lifts, parking and when the home can receive the move. We don't need medical details.
- ✓The crew carries everything to the room. Movesmith is your point of contact on the day.
