Probate removals: moving belongings to the family
Earn a referral fee on every move your clients book.
The standard fee is currently £30 per home move of one bedroom or more, and £5 per man-and-van job. Studio and room moves, and any move we price from its item list, count as man-and-van jobs. Fees apply to moves your clients pay for, including client-paid bookings made through Movesmith Business. We pay once the move is completed and paid for, monthly with a statement. Nothing is paid on cancelled moves or on moves refunded within 14 days of completion. Moves your organisation pays for through Movesmith Business get the organisation discount instead. A referral never changes your client's price.
Settling an estate often means a home full of belongings that need to go to different members of the family. Share one Movesmith link or code with the executor, and they can book a fixed-price move for the pieces being kept, from the property to a family member's home or into storage, without phoning round removals firms.
A practical handover
- ✓Share the link or code once the executor is ready to move belongings out of the property.
- ✓The executor gives Movesmith the addresses, the items being kept and the access details, and sees the fixed price before booking.
- ✓Movesmith moves belongings. It does not offer house clearance or disposal, so anything not being kept needs arranging separately.
- ✓Movesmith checks for a suitable moving team before the executor books. A referral alone does not reserve a team or a date.
- ✓The move is with Movesmith, not your firm: the executor contacts us with any question about it.
Family solicitors and mortgage brokers
The same referral route works for other advisers whose clients are about to move: a family solicitor whose client is moving out after a separation, or a mortgage broker whose client is buying.
- ✓Share one link or code when the move is agreed. Your client sees the fixed price before booking.
- ✓Movesmith handles the booking, payment and moving-day questions, so your client contacts us, not your firm.
- ✓If you receive a referral fee, tell your clients, as your regulator requires.
For your firm
- If you receive a referral fee, tell your clients, as your regulator requires.
- Prefer not to take a fee? We can set your code up with no referral fee. Your clients see exactly the same prices either way.
- Only share Movesmith where it suits your client. The executor chooses whether to book.
