Prices
How pricing works
There's no hourly meter. The price is for the job: what you're collecting, the drive from the store, the access at your home and the date.
Add what you're moving
Pick each item from the list. Not on the list? Describe it with its size and weight.
Add both addresses
Where we collect from and where it's going, with the floor, any lift and where the van can park.
See your fixed price
The price covers the van, the carry, the drive and the date. No hourly meter, nothing added on the day.
One flat-pack box from a shop
from £100
One flat-pack box up to 25 kg, collected from a shop, a short local drive, near the door at both ends, on a Monday to Thursday in the middle of the month. Prices include VAT.
An assembled wardrobe from a shop
from £110
A double wardrobe collected from a shop, a short local drive, near the door at both ends, on a Monday to Thursday in the middle of the month. Prices include VAT.
Each flat-pack item takes two answers: how many boxes, and how heavy the heaviest one is. Every box is planned at that weight, so the van and the carry are never smaller than your order needs. Up to 30 boxes a line are priced online.

Every price is on our price list. Road charges such as the Congestion Charge show as their own line in the quote, never added afterwards.
What we collect from IKEA
Most of what you buy at IKEA comes flat in a box, and that's what we plan for.
Flat-pack furniture
Wardrobes, beds, chests of drawers, tables, desks, bookcases and shelving, still in their boxes.
Sofas in a box
A boxed sofa is a bulky carry, so it's planned as one. Add the boxes and the heaviest box's weight.
Boxed mattresses
A rolled mattress in its box, priced as that size of mattress travelling boxed.
New appliances
A boxed washing machine, fridge freezer or oven, collected in its packaging. Some need a quick check by our team first.
Kitchen and worktop orders
Boxed kitchen units travel like flat-pack. Worktops aren't on the item list yet: describe them and our team confirms a price before you book.
A mixed store order
Boxes of homeware, lighting and storage. There's nothing to say what's in each box, so our team checks a mixed order first.
We deliver in the boxes. We don't build new flat-pack furniture, so arrange assembly separately if you need it.
How an IKEA collection works
Collect from the store itself or a click and collect point. Check first that the store will release the order to someone collecting for you.
Buy and choose collection
Pay for your IKEA order and choose to collect it. Wait until you're told it's ready.
See your fixed price
Start a quote and choose Shop or retailer as the place we collect from. Add each item, with its box count and the heaviest box's weight from your order details.
Add the collection details
Your order number, the collection point's address, any collect-by date, and confirmation that someone else may collect.
We collect and deliver
The driver collects your order and delivers it on the date you book, carried in to the floor you told us. Your order is never held overnight.
Before you book
Your box count
Count every box for every product. A single wardrobe can come in several.
A contact on the day
Add a name and phone number for the person releasing the goods. The driver calls them if anything is unclear.
A collect-by date
Some shops and sellers only hold goods for a set time. Add the date when you book, so the collection is planned before it.
Your route in
Check the turns on your stairs, the size of any lift and the width of your hallway. Long boxes and big sofas need room to turn.
Parking at both ends
Choose where the van can stop lawfully. If a permit or paid bay is needed, tell us who's arranging it.
Questions and answers
How much does it cost?
A flat-pack order starts from £100: one box up to 25 kg, collected from a store, a short local drive, near the door at both ends, on a Monday to Thursday in the middle of the month. Prices include VAT. More boxes, heavier boxes, stairs and a longer drive add time, all inside the fixed price you see before you book.
Which IKEA stores do you collect from?
Any IKEA store or click and collect point in the UK. Enter its postcode and yours, and the quote shows the price for the whole route. Routes to or from Scotland, Northern Ireland and the islands go to our team for a price first.
Can you collect my click and collect order?
Yes. Once you're told the order is ready, book a collection and add your order number. Check first that the collection point will release it to someone collecting for you.
Do you assemble IKEA furniture?
No. We collect and deliver your order in its boxes. Our reassembly service is for furniture a move takes apart, not for building new flat-pack.
Is Movesmith part of IKEA?
No. Movesmith is independent and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by IKEA. You buy from IKEA, and we collect the order you've paid for and deliver it to you.
Do you have a London page?
Yes. London has its own page with the same prices and process.
How soon can you collect?
The earliest you can book is the next day. Choose a date in the quote and you see the price for that date before you book. If the shop or seller has a collect-by date, pick a date before it.
What if the goods aren't ready or don't match when you arrive?
The driver follows the collection details you gave. They don't leave with something different or incomplete without a decision from Movesmith. They can't change the price or take cash. If the job needs to change, we send you a fixed proposal, and nothing extra happens unless you approve it.
Who is responsible if something is damaged?
Movesmith accepts liability for your goods while we move them, under the terms shown before you book. Every move includes Movesmith Cover up to £10,000 — with increased cover up to £50,000 available when you declare a higher value.
