Small moves north of the town centre, and out to Ringwood and Wimborne
North of the centre, Winton and Moordown (BH9) and Kinson, Northbourne and Wallisdown (BH10) are where a lot of Bournemouth's smaller jobs start and finish. Students aged 16 to 24 are the largest group of people moving into the area, so many jobs are a single room rather than a whole house.
Arts University Bournemouth is at Wallisdown, on the Poole side of the boundary (BH12), next to Bournemouth University. AUB says parking on its campus is for permit holders only, so agree where the van stops before moving day.
Jobs here are priced on what you list, not by the hour: one sofa, a bed and some boxes, or a studio flat. If the list grows into a whole home, the same quote prices it as a removal.

These are our published starting prices for a local move, the same in Bournemouth as anywhere else in the UK. Bigger loads move up the table, and your quote prices the van and team your load needs.

Longer moves are priced by distance — your quote shows the exact fixed price before you book.
Prices include VAT and are for a typical home on a short local move, Monday to Thursday mid-month. Your price depends on your items, access and date. Your exact price is fixed before you book, and any toll or crossing charges on your route are shown as their own line — never added afterwards.

Three routes out of Bournemouth
- Bournemouth to Poole (Parkstone): a 3-seater sofa for £140, about 15 minutes' drive (5 miles).
- Bournemouth to Ringwood: a 3-seater sofa for £155, about 20 minutes' drive (11 miles).
- Bournemouth to Wimborne: a 3-seater sofa for £145, about 20 minutes' drive (8 miles).

The price you see is the price you pay, as long as your move matches what you told us. Our pricing engine works it out from your addresses, your items and your date.

What shapes a Bournemouth man-and-van price
Short stays in town-centre bays
Some pay bays in the centre allow a short stay only. A quick drop of one item fits; a longer job with stairs needs a different place to stop, so say where the van can wait.
Collecting from a private seller
Check the item is ready, measured and free to leave before the van sets off. Add the seller's floor, any stairs and a contact number to your notes.
Halls and shared houses
Halls often set arrival times and say where vehicles can stop. Put any slot or instructions in your notes so the plan fits them.
Your date
Pick the date in the quote to see the price for that day, and change it to compare.

Man and van in Bournemouth — straight answers
Common questions on man-and-van pricing, what fits, and how Movesmith works.
How much is a man and van in Bournemouth?
Our engine priced a 3-seater sofa from BH9 to BH10 at £130, fixed. Your own figure depends on what you list, the floors and the carry, and you see it before you book.
Is it an hourly rate?
No. A Bournemouth job is priced once from the items, the addresses and the access, and it stays fixed while those match. Choose the date in the quote and the price is for that day.
Can you take things from Bournemouth to Poole, Ringwood or Wimborne?
Yes. The route prices on this page cover Bournemouth to Parkstone in Poole (BH14), Ringwood and Wimborne. For your own job, enter both addresses and the drive is in the fixed figure.
Are there moving teams near Bournemouth?
We don't have many movers based in Bournemouth yet. Your job goes to approved movers based nearby and to movers further away who choose to travel for it. We save your card when you book. We take nothing until a mover accepts. If no mover accepts, you pay nothing and we tell you straight away. You can then pick another date or cancel.
Can you help with a student room near the universities?
Yes. List what you own, from boxes to a bed frame, and the price follows the list. Arts University Bournemouth says parking on its campus is for permit holders only, so check where the van can stop.
Who can take away my old sofa or mattress?
BCP Council runs a bookable bulky waste collection. If anyone else takes it, the council says to check they are on the Environment Agency's register of waste carriers and to keep a note of their details, because you can be fined if your waste is dumped.
When is my card charged?
Nothing is taken when you book. Once a mover accepts, we hold the price about 48 hours before your move, or straight away if your move is sooner. Normally we take the payment after the move is done.
What parking and access details do I need to provide?
Tell us separately about pickup and delivery: choose where the van can park lawfully, then give the carry distance, floor, lift, stairs and any awkward access. A private driveway or unrestricted street selection is enough by itself. For permit-controlled, paid or loading-bay parking, also give who is arranging it, whether it is confirmed, its operating window and the exact lawful position. Unknown or unsupported access is reviewed before we offer a fixed price, and a carry of 50 metres or more needs a tailored review. Do not enter gate codes, passwords or access credentials in the booking.
What happens if parking or access is different on moving day?
If there is no lawful parking, furniture does not fit, access is unsafe, unplanned dismantling is needed or delivery cannot be completed, the operator pauses the affected work and sends Movesmith a structured report with evidence. The operator cannot invent a charge or take cash at the door. Movesmith reviews the facts and, if the job needs to change, sends you a fixed proposal. Extra work or payment happens only after you expressly approve it; if you reject it, there is no variation charge and Ops arranges the safe next step, rebooking or a fresh quote.
