The short answer
Long-distance moves within England and Wales get an instant fixed price online. The price covers loading, the drive, unloading and the crew's journey home, with the mileage shown as its own line.
We don't publish a set long-distance price: it depends on the distance and what's moving. Your quote shows one fixed price before you book.

What the price includes
Loading and unloading
Your furniture wrapped in blankets, loaded, and placed in the right rooms at the other end.
The drive and the mileage
Priced on the real driving route. The mileage shows as its own line inside the fixed price.
The return journey
The crew's drive home is part of the price. On the longest routes the crew rests near your new home after delivering, and that night is in the price too.
Enough van space
If your home doesn't fit a single Luton, a second Luton travels with the first, each with its own driver, so nothing waits for a second trip.
Road charges
The Congestion Charge, the Dartford Crossing and tunnel tolls are passed through at cost. If your route crosses one, the charge shows as its own line in your quote, with no commission taken. ULEZ and Clean Air Zones add nothing: the mover who takes the job must use a van that meets the standard.
One fixed price
Your price is fixed before you book. It stays fixed while what you're moving, the addresses and the access match what you told us. There's no hourly meter, and the mover can't add anything on the day.
Where we move
Anywhere in England and Wales is priced instantly online, from any UK address, not only London. Moves to or from Scotland, Northern Ireland and the islands get a tailored fixed quote from our team before you book.

How a long-distance moving day works
Loading
The crew arrives in your arrival window, wraps the furniture and loads the van.
The drive
Planned inside the drivers' hours rules, with their breaks built in.
Delivery
Your goods are unloaded on the day they're collected. They're never kept overnight in the van.
The return
The crew drives home, or rests nearby on the longest routes and drives back the next day.
Long-distance and local prices
For comparison, on a short local move with easy access, a 2-bed flat moves from £605 and a 3-bed house from £1,050. A long move adds the drive, the mileage and the crew's return, which is why it is priced on your actual route.
Questions and answers
How much does a long distance removal cost?
It depends on the distance, what you're moving and the access at both homes, so we don't publish a set price. Enter your move and you see an instant fixed price for moves across England and Wales, with the drive, the mileage and the crew's return included.
Will my things stay in the van overnight?
No. Your goods are delivered on the day they're collected. On the longest routes the crew may rest near your new home after delivering everything, and that night is part of your fixed price.
What if my home doesn't fit in a single van?
A second Luton travels with the first, each with its own driver, and it's priced instantly. A move bigger than that gets a tailored fixed quote from our team before you book.
Do you move to Scotland or Northern Ireland?
Yes. Moves to or from Scotland, Northern Ireland and the islands get a tailored fixed quote from our team, before you book.
Does my move have to start in London?
No. Enter any UK addresses. Our route pages happen to start in London, but the quote works the same from anywhere.
How are congestion charges, tolls and crossings handled?
The Congestion Charge, the Dartford Crossing and tunnel tolls are passed through at cost. If your route crosses one, the charge shows as its own line in your quote, with no commission taken. ULEZ and Clean Air Zones add nothing: the mover who takes the job must use a van that meets the standard.
How soon can I book?
The earliest you can book is the next day. Pick a date in the quote and you see the fixed price for that date before you book.
Who is responsible if something is damaged?
Movesmith accepts liability for your goods while we move them, under the terms shown before you book. Every move includes Movesmith Cover up to £10,000 — with increased cover up to £50,000 available when you declare a higher value.
