Move-out clearance & removals

House clearance and move-out removals in London.

Clearing a home? Movesmith moves the contents — to a new address, into storage, or to a charity — at a fixed price with a verified local operator. Ideal for end-of-tenancy move-outs and probate or family homes.

We move it — we don't tip it.This is a removals service: we move your contents where you want them. We don't haul items to the tip or dispose of waste. If you need disposal, use a licensed clearance firm, your council's bulky-waste service or a charity collection — we'll point you the right way.

  • Fixed price before booking
  • Verified local operators
  • Contents moved, not tipped
  • Storage & charity drops handled

What we help with

Moving a home's contents on.

  • End-of-tenancy move-outs — clear the flat by moving your things out
  • Probate & family homes — contents moved into storage or shared among family
  • Charity donation runs — reusable furniture taken to a charity
  • Part clearances — a room, a garage or just the furniture, moved on
  • Collection into storage — everything moved to a storage unit at a fixed price
  • Anywhere across London and the South East

What's not included

Disposal is a separate job.

Movesmith is a removals service, so anything you want thrown away rather than moved is handled elsewhere — here's the right route for each.

  • Waste disposal & tip runs

We don't haul items to a waste transfer station or dispose of them. For that, use a licensed clearance firm (check they hold a Waste Carrier Licence).

  • Council bulky-waste items

For a few large items to throw away, your council's bulky-waste collection is usually cheapest — we'll point you to it.

  • Reusable furniture you want gone

Charities like the British Heart Foundation and Emmaus collect good furniture free — we can move donations for you, but we don't run a disposal service.

How it works

A fixed price before you book.

  1. 1

Tell us what's moving and where to

Rough inventory or van loads, the address it's leaving, and where it's going — a new home, a storage unit, a family member or a charity.

  2. 2

    See your fixed price

One price up front for moving the contents — volume, access and distance shown as clear line items, nothing added on the day.

  3. 3

    A verified crew moves it

A verified local operator loads, transports and delivers to the destination. Anything you're disposing of, you arrange separately — we move, we don't tip.

Good to know

Planning a move-out clearance.

  • Probate & bereavement moves

Clearing a late relative's home is sensitive work. Operators handle it with care, and you only move what's being kept, donated or stored — at a price fixed in advance.

  • Volume and access

Move-outs are priced on how much there is and the access at both ends — floors, lifts, parking and long carries. Rough item counts up front keep the fixed price accurate.

  • Splitting keep / donate / dispose

Sort into keep, donate and dispose before the day. We move the keep and donate piles; the dispose pile goes via your council, a charity collection or a licensed clearance firm.

  • Timing

End-of-tenancy move-outs often have a fixed handover deadline. Share it when you book so the operator slots the job in correctly.

House clearance questions

Common questions on move-out clearance, disposal and pricing.

Does Movesmith take rubbish away or dispose of items?

No. Movesmith moves the contents of a home — to a new address, storage, a family member or a charity — but we don't haul items to the tip or dispose of them. For disposal, use a licensed clearance firm (check they hold a Waste Carrier Licence), your council's bulky-waste service, or a charity collection.

How much does a move-out clearance cost in London?

It's priced on how much is moving, the access at both ends and the distance — shown as a fixed price before you book. A part clearance of a room or the furniture costs less than a whole flat. For what a full clearance with disposal costs, see our house clearance costs guide.

Can you clear a relative's home into storage?

Yes — moving the contents of a probate or family home into a storage unit, or sharing them among family, is exactly what this is for. It's handled with care and priced as a fixed-price move before you book.

Can you move furniture to a charity?

Yes — we can move reusable furniture and items to a charity as part of the job. Many charities also collect good furniture free, so it's worth checking; either way, we handle the moving, not the disposal.

What if I need some things moved and others thrown away?

Sort into keep/donate and dispose before the day. Movesmith moves the keep and donate items to wherever they're going; for the dispose pile, arrange your council's bulky-waste collection or a licensed clearance firm. Splitting it this way is usually cheaper than a full disposal clearance.
