- Under 24 hours, or if you turn the crew away: 50%.
- Booked inside 24 hours? You have a 1-hour grace to cancel free.

Can a removal firm book a crew through Movesmith?
Yes. Removal firms can book van and driver hire from a vetted, insured operator with their own van and crew (Van + Driver, Crew 2, Crew 3 or a Whole Job), UK-wide. Prices are trade prices, ex VAT, and are on the Book a crew page. A Whole Job is a fixed price shown before you book.

Can I hire a van with a driver for a removal job?
Yes. Book a Van + Driver for man with van hire, or a crew of two or three for bigger days. Each operator brings their own Luton van and runs the job. The price is a fixed trade price, ex VAT, shown before you book.
Are your crews insured?
Yes. Operators need removals goods in transit insurance, public liability of £1m with Indemnity to Principals, and employers' liability if they use Network Crew. Right to work is checked for everyone on the job.
Who is liable for goods on a Crew on Demand job?
Every job runs on a written liability agreement, and the operator carries the goods in transit and public liability cover above. Read it before you book.
Can I use my own liability agreement?
Every job uses our written liability agreement. If your own terms must apply, ask us before you register and we will tell you what is possible.
How does extra time work?
If the job runs over, extra hours are charged after the job at the extra-hour trade price on the Book a crew page, ex VAT.
What does it cost a removal firm to cancel or book at short notice?
Cancelling 48 hours or more before the start is free; 24 to 48 hours is 25%; under 24 hours or turning the crew away is 50%. Booking 24 to 48 hours ahead adds 10%, and under 24 hours adds 20%.
Is this labour supply?
No. It is a subcontract. The operator is self-employed and runs the job with their own van and crew. You book the job, not individual people.
How do I pay for a crew?
By card, through your Movesmith Business account. The card is held when you book and charged after the job. We pay the operator.
How is this different from Courier Exchange?
With Movesmith there is no membership fee. The trade price is fixed and shown before you book, the operators are vetted for removals, and your card is charged after the job. Courier Exchange is a separate service and we make no claims about it.
