Movesmith checks identity, Goods in Transit and Public Liability documents, records the declared vehicle type, and requires a vehicle-compliance declaration. Once you book, a verified mover accepts the job; if none does in time, you pay nothing.

You can request a price from the city centre or areas such as Salford, Trafford, Stockport and Bury. You can book the fixed price straight away; a verified team then accepts the move, and if none does in time you pay nothing. The complete journey is reflected in the fixed quote.

If no verified mover accepts your booking in time, you pay nothing. If the flow offers a priority request instead, it does not become a booking and no card is saved or charged unless you proceed after capacity is confirmed.

For a booking: Your card is saved at booking. Once an operator is confirmed, we reserve the fixed price around 48 hours before your move, or immediately if it is within 48 hours. Normally we capture payment after your Sign-Off PIN or a documented completion review. For an expressly agreed multi-day booking, the payment agreement may require collection before work starts; that does not confirm completion or release the operator payout. A priority request saves no card while capacity is checked; booking follows confirmation.

Tell us about pickup and delivery: choose where the van can park lawfully, then give the carry distance, floor, lift, stairs and any awkward access. A private driveway or unrestricted street selection is enough. For permit-controlled, paid or loading-bay parking, also give who is arranging it, whether it is confirmed, its operating window and the exact lawful position. Unknown access, unsupported restrictions or a carry outside the online pricing limits needs a tailored review before we offer a fixed price. Do not enter gate codes, passwords or access credentials in the booking.

If there is no lawful parking, furniture does not fit, access is unsafe, unplanned dismantling is needed or delivery cannot be completed, the operator pauses the affected work and sends Movesmith a structured report with evidence. The operator cannot invent a charge or take cash at the door. Movesmith reviews the facts and, if the job needs to change, sends you a fixed proposal. Extra work or payment happens only after you expressly approve it; if you reject it, there is no variation charge and Ops arranges the safe next step, rebooking or a fresh quote.
