Prices include VAT and are for a short local move, Monday to Thursday mid-month, with the item near the door at both ends. Stairs, longer carries and distance are built into your fixed price, and any congestion or crossing charge is shown as its own line before you book — never added on the day.

Boxed flat-pack may need a quick check by our team before it can be priced, because flat-pack boxes are often longer and heavier than a standard moving box.

Plan the collection and the handover
Furniture moves often involve two people with different schedules: someone releasing the items and someone receiving them. Confirm who will release and receive the items, and tell us about any collection window before booking.
- Tell us which floor the items are on and whether a suitable lift is available.
- Check building access and any loading arrangements at both addresses.
- Include the complete item list, including fragile mirrors or framed artwork.

Stairs and walk-ups
Conversion flats and mansion blocks often mean a narrow staircase and no lift. Give the floor at both ends and whether there is a lift big enough for the piece, and the team and time needed are planned in.

What parking and access details matter for a furniture move?
Tell us about pickup and delivery: choose where the van can park lawfully, then give the carry distance, floor, lift, stairs and any awkward access. A private driveway or unrestricted street selection is enough. For permit-controlled, paid or loading-bay parking, also give who is arranging it, whether it is confirmed, its operating window and the exact lawful position. Unknown access, unsupported restrictions or a carry outside the online pricing limits needs a tailored review before we offer a fixed price. Do not enter gate codes, passwords or access credentials in the booking.
What if the furniture does not fit or access is unsafe?
If there is no lawful parking, furniture does not fit, access is unsafe, unplanned dismantling is needed or delivery cannot be completed, the operator pauses the affected work and sends Movesmith a structured report with evidence.
